Millions of people love the Beatles. Single Beatles albums have outsold entire bands. They are hailed by critics as one of the most important bands ever. I've listened to their music and I say fuck 'em.
I've always hated the Beatles and I found an old letter to the editor from Guitar World magazine that pretty much sums up how I feel about the Fag Four.
"I've really had enough of this Beatles bullshit. They were just a bunch of pretty boys who made bubble-gum pop. I don't know where this 'musical genius' is that everyone talks about. I see four sissies who got success and money from 14-year-olds and spent it on drugs and then wrote songs about their hallucinations."

Yup. That pretty much says it all. But, to clarify, let me expand on some of my views about the Beatles and refute some defenses of their name.
"Ozzy likes the Beatles."
I don't give a flying fuck if Ozzy likes them and the fact that he is a metal god does not sway my opinion; just because I like his music doesn't mean I have to agree with him. My best friends love the Beatles and that does nothing to change my mind. Angelina Jolie could be extolling the Beatles and giving me a front row seat to her vag and I would say "Fuck the Beatles now give me some of that pussy!"
"Drew all you listen to is metal."
Wrong. I love lots of bands that are very un-metal. For example: Gorillaz ("Dare" just makes me want to dance), N.W.A. (Eazy-E died a fuckin' Crip!), Pink Floyd (I could write a thesis on The Wall), Green Day (just because the mainstream latched on to what they were doing doesn't make them sell-outs. What if Satanism became hip? Would Deicide be considered sell-outs then?), and the Beastie Boys (HELLOOOOO BROOKLYYYYYYYN! *commence phat beats*) are some of my favorite artists.
"The Beatles were part of the counterculture of the '60s."
So fucking what. Let's just clear this up. I fucking hate hippies. I may believe that love is the most important thing in the universe, but I still fucking hate hippies. they seem to view the world to idealistically and this world is not puppy dogs and candy-farts. Peace is something you fight for. Goddamn hippies are annoying! Anyways, back to the point. Just because they challenged the right-wing status quo doesn't mean I don't see them as conformists to their own pathetic subculture.
"They were great musicians."
Suck my fucking cock. John Lennon and George Harrison aren't great guitar players: Jeff Hanneman and Kerry King (Slayer) are. Ringo Starr is not a great drummer: Raymond Herrera (Fear Factory) is. Paul McCartney is not a great bassist: Tony Choy (Atheist) is. I remember that a guitarist from the Fab Faux, the most prominent Beatles cover band, said that George Harrison's solos were so complex and like a math problem. He's not Frederik goddamn Thordendal (Meshuggah)! He's not Dave fucking Mustaine (Megadeth)! And let's say that whoever agrees with that statement "they were good musicians" means that they were great musicians in their time. Okay. the Beatles started in 1962. I'd bet my dick that anybody in a jazz band from that time was a better musician than those fucks. Even then, music's not about being the best; it's about feeling and emotion. Which brings me to my next point. They were fucking manufactured pop stars. They were a product, any emotion or statement they tried to bring across was corrupted by their conformity and therefore negated. Sure John Lennon's right that women are oppressed throughout the world, but his intent is tainted by his conformity. Does the word "poser" come to mind? Anybody?
"They were one of the first great rock bands."
So, being first is the best? Carrier pigeons are better than cell phones? Hmm. Interesting.
Now, if you like the Beatles, I don't hate you. Hell, maybe you could talk to me intellectually about my opinion (If you put some goddamn shitty no-fucking-grammar-skills comment like "u r wrong i luv teh beatles" I will hunt you down and skullfuck you while Cannibal Corpse blares in the background) and convince me that I'm wrong. I'm not too proud to recant and I can accept correction. Good luck on correcting me though. I'd say my reasoning is pretty solid.

I do not accept Jesus Christ as my personal savior. If I did, I'd be FIRED, I'd be SUED, and I'd have to say goodbye to ALL THIS GOOD STUFF
i.e.: inspire some of those that I do love.
Inspiration is a great thing, but can only be given so much credit.
Consume your idols so that you can strive to be better than they ever hoped.
i hate the beatles too. i think they sound so pretentious. and stupid and uncreative. and their lyrics are so retarded. haha. just like what you said.

Pride Of Temple City
Marching Band & Pageantry Corps
We Rule.
How the fuck can you say they weren't great musicians???
I mean just because they didn't have those super cool speed guitar solos??????
or the fancy drumming??
it was much more simple music man, but a thousand times more powerful than any other tune.

And you're right, they're very influential; but that is ALL I will give them. Please look at the comment left by
I like simple music too. Take the Offspring for example. Jimmy Eat World as well.
I love slow guitar solos too. David Gilmour is one of my favorite musicians.
And even though Nick Mason isn't a lightning fast metal drummer, I still like him.
